Create a Project

How to create and configure a new assessment project in Darwin

Create a Project

Projects are the foundation of your biodiversity assessment in Darwin. Each project contains your organizational structure, data points, and impact calculations.

Access the Projects List

  1. Click the organization selector in the bottom-left sidebar

  2. Select your organization

  3. You'll see the list of existing projects

Create a New Project

Project Status

Projects progress through different stages:

  1. New: Project created, no entities yet

  2. Entities Specified: Organizational structure defined

  3. Data Collected: Input points entered

  4. Footprint Assessed: Impact calculations completed

Duplicate a Project

To create a copy of an existing project:

  1. Open the projects list

  2. Click the three dots menu on the project card

  3. Select Duplicate

  4. Modify the name and settings as needed

Duplicating a project copies all entities, data points, and configurations. This is useful for creating scenario comparisons or annual assessments.

Next Steps

After creating your project:

  1. Create entities to define your organizational structure

  2. Add data points to enter your environmental data

  3. Run the assessment to calculate impacts
